My first post!

March 12th, 2006 · 12 Comments

I’ve just discovered the world of food blogs and I’m so excited and inspired by what I’ve been reading! What a great concept – creating a space to write freely about what I love: food whilst also connecting with like-minded food lovers as well!

I will share on these pages my successes (and mishaps because they’re funny) in culinary explorations and also share my favorite old recipes that I return to for reliable comforting dishes.

Food, in addition to being a healthy way to nourish my body, is also something that nourishes my spirit. That sounds rather hokey now that I read that last sentence so let me elaborate. You know how sometimes hearing an old song can bring back a feeling or memory of a place in time? Food has that similar magical property for me in that a cup of mint tea, a plate of freshly made pasta with pesto, or a Rolo chocolate candy can immediately remind me of an experience I shared with someone special to me.

I guess that’s why I could go on and on and on about food. I love to revisit the past with food that I have special associations with and I also love to create new memories and bring people together using it as the perfect bait to do so!

In my short time exploring food blogs I’ve already encountered a number of recipes that I’m anxious to try and I ‘m so grateful for all of the inspiration out there!

Hi G – I just checked out your blog and I am obsessed! Why are you so cute? Reading it made me miss you so much and reminded me of your and Grace’s gourmet days in undergrad…which I happily enjoyed on many occasions. Anyway, I hope you keep it up and I am excited to try some of your recipes.

I love food too, my dad is a chef and my whole family always talk about food. It’s the easiest topic for conversation too when you are talking to people you don’t know very well.
